Frequently asked questions

Decorative black stones with words like 'PEACE', 'WELLBEING', 'BALANCE', and 'HARMONY' written on them, placed on a wooden surface with small pink and white flowers around.
  • What does a reflexology session involve?

You’ll relax in a reclining chair while I apply gentle pressure to specific reflex points on the feet (or, sometimes, hands).  It’s not a massage, but most people find it deeply soothing.

    Is reflexology painful?

Reflexology should not be painful.  Some areas may feel slightly tender if there is tension or an imbalance, but pressure is always adjusted for comfort.

    What can reflexology help with?

Clients often use reflexology for stress relief, sleep support, digestive imbalance, circulation, hormonal balance, and general well-being.

Do I need more than one session?

Some people notice benefits straight away.  For long term concerns, a short course of treatments may offer deeper results.

  • What are flower essences?

Flower essences are liquid remedies that carry the energetic imprint of flowers.  They support emotional balance rather than physical symptoms.

Do they contain scent or plant material?

No – unlike essential oils, flower essences are unscented and contain only trace amounts of the original plants.

    How are flower essences taken?

They are usually taken as drops under the tongue or in water, daily or as needed.

Are they safe for children and pets?

Absolutely – flower essences are extremely gentle and can be safely used for all ages.

  • How are essential oils used?

They can be diffused into the air, added to baths, applied to the skin (when diluted), or used in aromatherapy massage.

Can I apply essential oils directly to the skin?

Most essential oils must be diluted in a carrier oil (such as almond or jojoba) before being applied.  I can advise on safe use.

What are essential oils commonly used for?

Relaxation, sleep support, mood uplift, respiratory comfort, and natural self-care.

Can essential oils be combined with other therapies?

Absolutely – they work beautifully alongside reiki, reflexology, or during emotional support with flower essences

  • What happens during a Reiki session?

You remain fully clothed and lie comfortably while I place my hands gently on or above different areas of the body.  Most people feel warmth (or sometimes cold), tingling, or deep relaxation.

Do I need to believe in Reiki for it to work?

No – Reiki is not based on belief or religion.  It works naturally whether you understand how it works or not.

    Is Reiki safe?

Yes.  It is gentle, non-invasive, and suitable for all ages.  It can be used alongside medical care and other therapies.

    How will I feel afterwards?

Most people feel calm, lighter, or refreshed.  Occasionally, emotions may surface briefly as part of the body’s natural balancing process.
